Hooray Julie and Jill got married and we get to surprise and delight Julie by celebrating her at Cornerstone with a SECRET SURPRISE FLASHMOB! Thank you for being a part of it. Most important details: don’t give away the secret (use codeword CHEESECAKE at all times; never say “flashmob”!) and don’t stress – have fun and smile a lot and it’ll be great!!
Here’s the deal:
The song is “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” by Whitney Houston, naturally (lyrics). We’ll dance to a slightly edited cut of the song.

So: watch and practice from the videos that are just for your group:
Group One
Here’s your special part video (verse 1) and the chorus video (same for everyone!). Make sure to learn both! Your sequence is:
DANCE your verse, dance the chorus, clear the stage for group two’s verse.
JOIN again behind them to dance the chorus again.
QUICKLY clear the stage for group three to do interlude and chorus when Jill joins,
JOIN again after Jill has come in for the last repeating choruses to the end/big group hug in the middle
Group Two
Here’s your special part video (verse 2) and the chorus video (same for everyone!). Make sure to learn both! Your sequence is:
Wait and LOOK SURPRISED STILL while group one does their verse and the first chorus (even though you know those same chorus steps), and line up on the side (stage right, audience left!),
ENTER and DANCE your verse and then the chorus (group one will join behind you for the chorus), QUICKLY RUN OFF to clear the stage for group three to come from the back for their interlude and the chorus where Jill will come in,
and JOIN again after Jill has come in for the last repeating choruses to the end/big group hug in the middle
Group Three
Here’s your special part video (interlude) and the chorus video (same for everyone!). Make sure to learn both! Your sequence is:
Wait and LOOK SURPRISED STILL while group one and two does their verses and choruses (even though you know those same chorus steps), but slowly make your way to the BACK during the second chorus so when they clear out of the way, you can ENTER and DANCE your special interlude steps, the special chorus where Jill comes in, and the repeating last choruses to the end/big group hug in the middle
Group Four
Here’s the chorus video for you to learn – make sure you continue to LOOK SURPRISED each time a new group enters, and only give away that you’re also a part of it when YOU enter, after the interlude group (3) comes from the back!
From wherever you are, jump in for the SPECIAL chorus (stop and point at Jill coming in!) and then continue to dance the repeating last choruses to the end/big group hug in the middle.
Here’s the overall structure in case your brain works that way:
Group One begins the dance and dances through the first verse and chorus, then exit.
Group Two enters from stage right and dances the second verse; Group One joins them for the second time of the chorus. Both groups quick get out of the way for…
Group Three enters from the BACK and dances the interlude, then
Group Four enters and does the chorus (with Group Three) as JILL enters also, then everyone comes back on to do the chorus over and over around the happy couple until the song fades out and we rush the center for a big group hug!!
